Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The government is likely to announce fuel price adjustment on Monday night or on Tuesday, Director General of Oil and Gas at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry IGN, Wiratmaja Puja, said.
"The fuel price adjustment is likely to be announced tonight or tomorrow," he said here on Monday.
However, he refused to divulge the exact figures.
"I have to report it to Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said who will discuss it with the president," he said.
The government will take into account several aspects before finalizing the fuel price adjustment for the April 1-June 31 period, he said.
"We must consider how the drop in fuel prices can last until the post fasting month festivities Lebaran, so that fuel prices remain stable and do not increase," he said.
Since the Mean of Plates Singapore (MOPS) price has begun to increase, the government will not lower fuel prices too much as Lebaran will fall in July, he said.
"The adjusted prices will be valid from April 1 to June 30, 2016 and fuel prices will change again with effect from July 1. If we cut the fuel prices very much, they will increase drastically ahead of Lebaran," he said. (WDY)
