Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesian fashion products at Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair 2016 have attracted buyers from several countries such as Germany, Australia and China, trade attache in Bangkok, Rita Tri Mutiawati said.

"It was encouraging on the first day. Buyers from various countries such as Australia and China crowded the Indonesian stand," she said in a press release received here on Sunday.

Rita said batik products from the country have also lured buyers from Germany shown by orders for "Batik Maos Rajasa Mas" for printing product.

The Indonesian embassy has invited 12 companies to participate in the exhibition.

Rita said at the opening day Vivi Collection received orders from Thailand, Taiwan and Australia for snake leather products while Aniaki received orders from China and Textile Association India for kaftan cloth products.

"At the opening day Devi Reptile settled initial transactions worth US$50,000 for crocodile leather bag products. In the near future the buyers would visit Indonesia for further negotiation. Buyers from Russia and Japan are still negotiating over prices with Vivi Collection," she said.

Rita said the 12 Indonesian companies that took part in the event are companies that produce export quality fashion and leather products.

Besides being a participant  Indonesia has also presented a fashion show displaying Soe collections Jakarta and Rani Hatta from March 10 - 11. Business matching has also been held between Indonesian businessmen and those from Thailand, other ASEAN countries, Asia and Europe.

BIFF & BIL is an annual event organized by Department of International Trade Promotion of the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand.

Products shown at the BIFF &BIL 2016 included ethnic fashion clothing, modern fashion, bag, shoes and jewelry products.

The event is held with an aim of promoting fashion centers in ASEAN countries and making it a forum for information exchange on layest designs between Thai and other ASEAN businessmen.

BIFF & BIL 2016 carried a theme of "Catching the Creative Spirit" which was divided into four themes including urban, casual, heritage and source. The event was held on a 30,000 square meter area and attended by more than 850 stands offering fashion and leather products from Thailand, ASEAN countries, Asia and Europe. (WDY)
