Jakarta (Antara Bali)- Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong in a letter to President Joko Widodo has expressed solidarity with the people of Indonesia and condolences to the families of the victims of the terror attacks on Thursday.
"On behalf of the people and Government of Singapore, I would like to express our deepest condolences to the victims and their families. Singapore stands in solidarity with the people of Indonesia," he said in his letter posted on the website of the embassy of Singapore here Friday.
Lee said he was deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the terror attacks in the heart of Central Jakarta. He also strongly condemned these attacks which have resulted in the tragic loss of innocent lives.
"I am confident that the Indonesian Government will be able to deal with the situation decisively. Singapore gives its full support to the Indonesian Government's efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice," the prime minister said.
President Tony Tan Keng Yam also expressed his condolences over the tragic loss of innocent lives and his support for the Indonesian people and government following the terror attacks in Central Jakarta on 14 January 2016.
The neighboring country's Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan also wrote to Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi to express his condolences and support to the Indonesian government. (WDY)
