Bandung, West Java (Antara Bali) - Three state-owned companies have cooperated to develop POSTshops in various locations in Indonesia.
For the initial stage PT Pos Indonesia, PT Rajawali Nusantara (RNI) and PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia (PPI) would open the first POSTshop in West Jakarta, Pos Indonesia public relations manager Abu Sofian said here on Tuesday.
He said the Postshop would be the 43rd and the first to be built under the cooperation of the three companies.
The grand opening of the POSTshop in Sukabumi Udik, West Jakarta, was done by the finance director of PT Pos Indonesia, Poernomo, the president director of RNI, Didi Prasetyo and the president director of PT PPI, Dayu Padmara Rengganis on Wednesday last week marked by the signing of the cooperation agreement.
The concept of POSTshop under the synergy of the three state-owned companies is a retail sale using a room in the post office with a POSTshop brand name combining services offered by the three companies with PT Pos offering postal service, RNI consumer goods and PT PPI white crystal sugar.
"POSTshop is part of our commitment to serve the public in a location named POSTshop managed by PT Pos," Abu said.
He said however that it was not impossible for partners from state-owned companies, regional government-owned companies, cooperatives, small and medium businesses, individuals and others to run them in the future.
On the occasion PT Pos Indonesia and PT PPI also signed a cooperation agreement on partnership synergy for the sales of white crystal sugar. The agreement was the follow up of the MOU signed by the two companies on October 10.
PT PPI as a government representative is tasked with stabilizing the price of sugar and also holding the national stock.
POSTshop is a business innovation of PT Pos Indonesia combining postal service with modern retail sale service. In several location they open until 10pm and people can shop their daily needs there like they do in shops, mini markets or convenience stores.
People can also send packages and pay various bills such as electricity, water, credit cards and others.
"In Bandung and Denpasar POSTshops have even been used by young people to hang out and online businesses sending their products" he said.
