Malang, E Java (Antara Bali) - Persipasi Bandung Raya (PBR) club defeated Persegres Gresik United 3-2 in the qualifier of the General Sudirman Cup tournament here on Sunday.
Three goals for PBR were scored by Kim Jeffery Kurniawan in the 35th minute, Rachmat Hidayat in the 47th minute and Ibrahim Conte in the 58th minute.
Meanwhile, two players of Persegres Jefry Kurniawan and Ade Suhendra scored the two goals respectively in the 14th and 88th minutes in the match which took place in Kanjuruhan Kepanjen stadium.
It is the second loss for Persegres Gresik United after being defeated by Sriwijaya FC 0-1 on Thursday (Nov 19).
The single goal for Sriwijaya FC was made by its captain Titus Bonai in the 34th minute.
As many as 15 soccer clubs are participating in this soccer event that started on November 10. The tournament was initiated by the Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander.
The soccer tournament is being organized to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Indonesian military (TNI).
The General Sudirman tournament qualifiers started on November 12 and will continue till December 22, while the semifinal will be held in each of the semifinalist`s home (home and away format) from January 9 to 17, 2016.
Meanwhile, the final round will take place at the Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on January 24, 2016. (WDY)
