Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Army Information Service chief, Brig. Gen. Wuryanto, called on military officers to refrain after a clash between military members and police personnel occurred in Polewali Mandar (Polman)District, West Sulawesi, on Sunday noon.
"We call on all members of the Army and Police wherever they are to not let themselves be provoked by the incident," he said here on Sunday night.
Wuryanto hoped that all members of the two institutions would leave the problem to be solved to the VII/Wirabuana Military commander Maj. Gen. Bachtiar and Regional Police Chief Insp. Genl Anton Setiadji.
"Leave the conflict to be solved to the local regional military and police chiefs. This is misunderstanding which has no relations with any units of the police and the military," he said referring to the clash between members of the Army and police during which one military officer was killed in Polman, West Sulawesi, on Sunday.
He said that the conditions in the location had returned to normal. The local regional military and police chiefs were already there to resolve the conflict. (WDY)
