Seoul (Antara Bali) - Vice President Jusuf Kalla arrived in South Korea on Wednesday morning for a five-day visit until August 30.
The vice president accompanied by his wife Mufidah Kalla arrived at Incheon Airport at 08.30 a.m. local time by Garuda Indonesia flight. They were greeted by Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea John A Prasetio upon arrival at the airport.
On the first day of his visit to South Korea on Wednesday, Kalla will meet with Secretary General of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties Chung Eui-yong and attend a business luncheon with steel producer Posco, according to the secretariat of the vice president.
While in Seoul, Kalla will also act as a keynote speaker at the 3rd World Summit on "Peace, Security and Human Development. Organized by the New York-based Universal Peace Federation the conference will last from August 27 to 31.
The conference is expected to bring together some 400 delegates from various countries, including former Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan.
At the conference, the delegates will share views and experiences in settling conflicts and initiating peace efforts in their respective countries.
Kalla is known as one of the key figures, who played an important role in the peace process in Aceh, Poso and Ambon, which were formerly plagued by armed conflicts. (WDY)
