Purwakarta (Antara Bali) - Anami, a resident of Bungur Sarang hamlet, Cisarua village, Tegalwaru sub-district, in Purwakarta district of West Java province will participate in the worlds oldest woman contest in Russia this year, her daughter said here on Tuesday.

Anamis present age may be 140 years, but her real age will be revealed through a thorough medical examination, Rati, Anamis third daughter from her marriage to her second husband, said.

"However, the plan to participate in the worlds oldest woman contest depends on the Purwakarta district governments decision," she added.

Accompanied by her children and grandchildren, Anami went to meet District Head of Purwakarta Dedi Mulyadi at his office to request him to support her participation in the contest.

Mulyadi stated that he supports Anamis participation in the contest, but proposed that she undergo a medical examination to find out her real age. If she was indeed 140 years old, she would definitely win the contest, which was initiated by Russian billionaire Dmitry Kaminsky.

The winner of this contest will receive Rp13 billion.

Currently, the worlds oldest living woman is Jeralean Talley of the United States of America. This 115-year-old American replaced Jeanne Calment of France, who died at the age of 122.5 years in 2007. (WDY)
