Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali Police, on Tuesday, beefed up security arrangements around Kerobokan prison in Denpasar in the run up to the relocation of the two Australian death row convicts Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan.

Based on Antara`s on-site observation on Tuesday, some ten policemen and several others in plainclothes were seen on guard around the prison.

During regular days, only two policemen are seen patrolling the prison, but on Tuesday, the number was significantly high ahead of the transfer of Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan out of Bali.

There were no signs as to when the two Australian death row convicts would be transferred to Nusakambangan Island in Central Java, although Bali`s High Prosecutor`s Office has stated that they would be transferred this week.

Bali Police spokesman Senior Commissioner Hery Wiyanto noted that the security around the prison was increased, but he did not reveal details about when the two convicts would be transferred.

"When they will be transferred is not our authority. We are only in charge of securing the transfer process," he added.  (WDY)
