Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Jakarta composite index opened higher on Friday on positive domestic and external sentiments, analysts said.
The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) rose 15.06 points or 0.20 percent to 5,226.89 points with index of 45 most liquid stocks up 0.42 percent to 901.81.
"Accumulation of positive domestic and external sentiments pushed up the BEI index," Head of Research of Valbury Asia Securities Alfiansyah said here.
He said the international rating agency Standard & Poor (S&P) gave a BB+ (double B plus) rating for the government long term global bonds in US denomination with stable outlook.
The rating was given to mid term global bond valued at US$30 billion to be issued by the government, he said.
"The Indonesian rating by S&P on the global bond reflected a positive perception of Indonesia," he said.
He said the possibility of the BEI index to climb higher is potential in the last trading day this week .
In addition to positive domestic sentiment, the market also received positive signals from global stock markets, he added.
"European stock markets gained almost 3 percent after the European Central Bank said it was ready to start quantitative easing in full scale. The US market is also in a positive territory," he said.
Regional markets such as Hang Seng, Nikkei and Straits Times also posted gain. (WDY)
