Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesia has been encouraged to become full member of Asia-Pacific Space Cooperation Organization (APSCO) in order to improve its human resources capacity in the field of space technology, official said.
"Indonesia has been asked to become a full member of APSCO," National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) Chief Thomas Djamaluddin said here on Tuesday.
He noted that to become a full member, Indonesia has been selected to host an international training on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).
APSCO Secretary General Celal Unver pointed out that Indonesia can become APSCO member because it has a very important position as the fourth most populous country in the world.
"Indonesia will host the international training because APSCO needs to cooperate with the country," Unver said, adding that various benefits can be derived by Indonesia as a full member of APSCO. (WDY)
