11 Investors Pass Prequalification to Buy Mutiara Bank

Selasa, 13 Mei 2014 10:04 WIB

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Eleven investors have passed the prequalification stage to bid for Mutiara Bank which is formerly Century Bank, according to the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS).

"Four of the investors that have passed the qualification are from home and seven others from abroad," LPS secretary Samsu Adi Nugroho said in a press statement received here on Monday.

He said PT Danareksa Sekuritas as an LPS financial consultant would soon send the PT Bank Mutiara information memorandum and documents for the investors to participate in the initial bidding.

According to LPS there were earlier 18 investors who were interested to buy PT Bank Mutiara shares but until the dead line on April 22 only 11 of them submitted letters of interest.

LPS has set a price tag for the bank at Rp6.7 trillion which is the value of the capital participation LPS had put in the former Century Bank to save it from collapsing during the 2008 economic crisis.

Based on the law if after five years from the bailout no investor was interested to buy the bank at Rp6.7 trillion the bank would be sold at its best price.(WDY)
