Cairo (Antara Bali) - All Indonesian nationals across Egypt are safe, in the wake of the violence and bomb attack in the country beset by political conflicts, according to the Indonesian Embassy report in Cairo.
"Up to Sunday all Indonesian citizens in Egypt were safe; however, they should remain alert especially after the deadly clash on Friday," the embassy reported on Monday.
The Indonesian Embassy report was related to the worsening political and security conditions in Egypt, where at least three people were killed in the violence among Muslim Brotherhood supporters and police, after Friday prayers.
The violence in the last three days broke out after 14 people were killed in a suicide bomb attack at a police station on Tuesday.
Later on Saturday, an Al-Azhar University student was killed when the supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood, designated by the state this week as a terrorist organization, clashed with the police at the university campus in Cairo.
But the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo continued to coordinate with security officials and the Egyptian Government to ensure security and safety of Indonesian nationals in the conflict-ridden country.
Most of the 4,000 Indonesian nationals in Egypt are students in the cities such as Cairo, Tanta, Alexandria, Tafahna, Mansourah, and Zakazik. (*/DWA)
