Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali is tightening security control at its entry gates following recent jailbreak in Medan.
"We are tightening security control on access routes to Bali. We would not take a risk relating to the escape of prisoners in Medan," Bali`s regional police command spokesman Senior Commissioner Hariadi said here on Tuesday.
He said tightened control would not only be carried out at official entryways but also shortcuts.
He said the police would step up checking on individuals and on the luggage of passengers arriving on the island especially from the Gilimanuk seaport in Jembrana.
He said the police would also conduct security and monitoring operations at the port area and a number of traditional ports in Jembrana. (*/M038)
