Manado, N Sulawesi (Antara Bali) - The North Sulawesi district court has sentenced JFK alias Jimmy to 12 years and six months in jail for killing a journalist.
The defendant had legally and convincingly proven guilty of being involved in a murder case and possessing an illegal sharp weapon, judge Efran Basyuning who presided over the trial said on Monday.
Efran said JFK was also found guilty of abusing the weapon. Aryono Linggota who worked for the Manado-based Harian Metro daily was found dead with stab wounds on his body on Jl, Daan Mogot 4 in the North Sulawesi provincial capital of Manado on November 25 last year.
Sofyan Jimmy Yosadi, JFK's lawyer said he was considering an appeal against the panel of judges' verdict as the prosecution could not prove all elements of perpetrated murder charges.
"We must prove that the case does not stand alone. There must be somebody else behind it," he said. (*/DWA)
