Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesians prefer "landed house" than apartment when looking for place to stay, a property survey from Rumah123.com said.
"Apart from its cheaper price, landed houses have bigger space with garden and therefore they are more favorable than apartment," Sales manager of Rumah123.com Meddy H Papinka said in a press conference here on Tuesday.
He explained that the survey was conducted from the period of December 2012 to January 2013 with 6,117 respondents - mostly those who visit the www.rumah123.com website. The survey shows 64 percent of respondents choose house as favorite property piece.
Though latest survey said majority of respondents prefer house for property, the number of people looking for house through the website is declining compare to last year's number of 73 percent.
Rumah123.com's General Manager Andy Roberts said it is because the number of apartments is growing. Furthermore he said more Indonesians now realizes the value of apartment as property that is not only for place to stay but also for long-term investment.
"Among key factors that influence the growing number of apartment purchase are positive economic growth, the increasing number of middle class people with good purchasing power and relatively stable inflation," he added. (IGT/T007)
