Jakarta (Antara Bali) - AirAsia Indonesia, an airline jointly owned by Malaysian budget airline AirAsia  and Indonesian partners has set target to fly 8.5 million passengers next .

The airline sets a much higher target compared to this year's target of 6 million with the operation of more aircraft and new routes, its CEO  Dharmadi told reporters here on Wednesday.

This year, however, it is expected that the airline would not meet its target of 6 million .

Until the end of November, the number of passengers is estimated to reach only 5.35 million  and in December the number is expected to be only around 500,000, Dharmadi said.

The total number of 5.85 million, therefore, will fall short of the target, he added.(*/DWA/IGT)
