Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Former Chief Justice Bismar Siregar passed away at age 84 at noon on Thursday in Fatmawati Hospital in South Jakarta, his son  Kemalsjah Siregar said.

"Bismar Siregar, my father, passed away at 12.25 pm after having been treated at the hospital since Monday," Kemalsjah said.

Earlier on Wednesday, the former chief justice of the New Order era was rumored to have passed away, but Fatmawati Hospital spokesman Roni said Bismar was then listed in critical condition.

Kemalsjah said his family members, including his seven children, were at his bed side during his final hours.

He added that Bismar's body would be taken to his home on Cilandak street before being buried at Jeruk Purut cemetery in South Jakarta on Friday.(IGT)
