Mangupura
(Antara Bali) - The government of Badung District in the province of Bali
fully supports a feasibility study on the management of waste to serve
as a source of energy with high economic value.
"In this effort, we will cooperate with the government and business entity, so that garbage can be utilized properly to provide energy," Badung Vice District Head I Ketut Suiasa remarked here on Friday.
He said that through the cooperation between the government and business entity, it is expected that the waste can be utilized and managed to become a source of electrical energy and to reduce the government`s financing for the energy sector.
"I laud the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) that has chosen the districts of Badung and Buleleng where the feasibility study will take place," he said.
Suiasa had earlier received Andianto Haryoko, the Bappenas head of sub-directorate of non-electricity energy head, on Thursday.
On the occasion, Haryoko said that Bappenas and the province are the facilitators to support infrastructure development in the region through cooperation between the government and business entity, so that the already financially feasible projects can be offered to private parties or business entities, both at home and abroad.(WDY)
