Sydney,(Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo was welcomed in a state ceremony at Admiralty House, which is the official residence of Australia governor general, by Australia Governor General Peter Cosgrove flanked by Lady Cosgrove here on Sunday.
President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana arrived at around 9am starting his official agenda of his state visit to Australia.
Following a photo session with Sydney Opera House as its background President Joko Widodo then held a tete a tete meeting with Australia Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull at the Admiralty House's reception room.
After that the two leaders held a bilateral meeting accompanied by a number of cabinet ministers.
In his welcome statement PM Turnbull said he enjoyed having dinner in the evening and a walk with President Joko Widodo in the morning.
"I am glad to welcome President in Australia. We have enjoyed the beautiful morning taking a walk together and have met with the people of Australia including a father carrying a baby with him," he said.
He said the relations between Australia and Indonesia have been very close especially in the past few years.
"We can see a lot of progress made such as IACEPA. This will increase investment. I have also seen a lot of progress in the relations in the past few years. We certainly respect the solidarity and sovereignty of NKRI (the Unitary State of Indonesia)," he said.
President Jokowi as he is also called thanked PM Turnbull for the welcome saying that almost all issues to be discussed to day have been raised in the dinner.
"Thank you for the welcome given to me, my wife and the Indonesia delegation and the dinner last evening has settled almost all issues," President Joko Widodo said.
President Joko Widodo was accompanied by foreign minister Retno Marsudi, trade minister Enggartiasto Lukito, cabinet secretary Pramono Anung, head of Capital Investment Coordinating Board Thomas Lembong, head of Creative Economy Triawan Munaf and Indonesian ambassador to Australia Nadjib Riphat Kesoema.
