Kendari (Antara Bali) - Container ship MV Permai sank in Menui Island waters, Banggai District, Southeast Sulawesi, on its way from Tanjung Perak Seaport in Surabaya to Papua.
Two survivors were found and 19 crew members were still missing following the accident, Head of the Kendari Search and Rescue office, said here on Monday.
"The ship was most likely hit by huge waves and strong wind off Menui Island coast which shares border with Banda Sea," Jafar said.
The SAR team is still searching for missing crew members of the 4,295-ton ship by using a ship, a rubber boat and a small plane. (*/DWA)
