S Korean Investors Keen To Develop Airports In Bali

Jakarta (Antara Bali) - South Korean investors including  Samsung C&T have expressed keen interest in developing a number of airports in Indonesia, Tourism and Creative Economic Minister Mari Elka Pangestu said.

They wanted to develop a number of airports in the country including those in Majalengka (West Java), Panimbang (Banten), and North Bali, she said here on Monday night.

The airports are among infrastructure projects offered at the Indonesian Tourism Investment Day (ITID) 2012 held at JW Marriot Hotel here on Monday. The other projects are the construction of toll roads and the operation of tourist resorts.

"The South Korean investors will study which projects are feasible to invest," she said.

Mari said her ministry would always coordinate with the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in attracting investment in the tourism sector including the development of supporting facilities such as infrastructure projects.

The just-concluded ITID 2012 was the first such forum ever held by the Tourism and Creative Economic Ministry in cooperation with BKPM, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the Forestry Ministry and the Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry.(IGT/T007)
