Solo (Antara Bali) - Solo Mayor Joko Widodo, who is a strong candidate for the next governor of Jakarta, said he has no target to say ahead of the run off election on Sept 20.
"Our target with the supporters , sympathizers, volunteers and parties is to work hard," Joko Widodo, better known as Jokowi, said here on Tuesday.
He said he did have target but he would not divulge the target and the strategies to win the run off election.
Jokowi led in the first round of the election contested by six candidates with incumbent Fauzi Bowo trailing in second place. The 43 percent votes he garnered fell short of the majority of at least 51 percent needed to outright win the prestigious governorship of the capital city.
He said he chose not to be carried away by noise of the pre-election campaigns allowing the process of election to "flow" by itself. "We do need to work hard as we are facing rivals a combination of big parties," he said.
Fauzi Bowo enjoys support of the ruling party and member of the coalition parties under President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
Jokowi has only opposition parties Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) and Gerindra behind him. "They are ganging up against me," he had commented about the vast majority of political parties throwing support for his contender.(*/T007)
