Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The public prosecutor from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has accused Miranda S Goeltom of bribing lawmakers with traveler's checks worth Rp24 billion to vote for her as Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor in 2004.

Miranda had given traveler's checks to Hamka Yandhu, Dudhie Makmun Murod, Endin Soefihara, and Udju Djuhaeri, the public prosecutor said at the anti-corruption court here on Tuesday.

This is the first time for Miranda to stand trial at the court for her involvement in the 2004 vote-buying case.

If found guilty, Miranda could be sentenced to five years in jail and fined a maximum of Rp250 million.

Miranda said she objected to the accusation.(IGT)
