Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Coordinating Minister for Economy Hatta Rajasa said the government wants the corruption case in beef imports to be wrapped up immediately.
"We support KPK (Corruption Eradication Commission). We want the case to be fully brought out into the open," Hatta said Friday night.
KPK has arrested four persons on Tuesday on charge of attempting to bribe a lawmaker, Lufti Hasan Ishaaq, the president of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).
On Thursday the anti graft agency detained Luthfi on charge of accepting kickback from an importer in exchange of help for approval of more beef imports.
Hatta said the government has granted the license for the imports of 80,000 tons of beef this year.
Earlier Agriculture Minister Suswono said the quota had been transparently split between importers based on the existing mechanism. (IGT)
