Bali's Aquatic Exports Down 1.99 Pct

Denpasar (Antara Bali) - Bali's aquatic exports in the first four months of 2012 fell slightly by 1.99 percent to US$31.03 million from the same period last year, an official said.

The aquatic exports represented 19.48 percent of the province's overall non-oil/non-gas exports in the January-April 2012 period which reached US$159.13 million, Head of the Public Relations Bureau at the Bali Provincial Government I Ketut Teneng said here on Sunday.

He said the drop was the result of the global economic crisis which led to low demand in the countries of destination.

Only four of the 11 aquatic products which penetrated the export market recorded a significant increase, he said.

They were kakap fish, crab, lobster and various kinds of fish.(IGT)
