Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Chairman of the Association of Indonesian National Air Carrier, Emirsyah Satar, said drugs are not part of the lifestyle of airplane crew members.
His statement was made in response to the recent arrest of SS, a pilot from PT Lion Air, for using methamphetamine at a hotel in Surabaya, East Java. SS was scheduled to go on duty at 06.00 that same day.
"Drug abuse is not part of the lifestyle of all airplane crews in Indonesia," he said here on Friday.
He expressed concern over the arrest of SS.
The pilot, SS, was apprehended after he consumed methamphetamine in a hotel in Surabaya on Saturday at 03.30 am. During the early morning raid, police arrested SS and three other pilots while they were playing cards.(IGT)
