Jakarta (Antara Bali) - A legislator has called on Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan to help strengthen trade at home by giving priority to the revitalization of traditional markets.
"The change in the trade ministerial post from f Mari Elka Pangestu to Gita Wirjawan brings new hope for the people," Refrizal of the House of Representatives (DPR)'s Commission VI on trade, said here on Wednesday.
He said his side expected that the change in the trade minister's post would result in better trade policies and most importantly polices that would be pro-domestic markets.
Refrizal said one of the ways to reinforce domestic trade was to give priority to the revitalization of traditional markets.
"Traditional markets are the centers of domestic trade. If the traditional markets are good then the people will d be happy to shop there, thereby small traders will also enjoy the benefits of domestic trade," he said.(**)
