Gianyar, Bali (Antaranews Bali) - The Bali Provincial soccer team of Bali United defeated PSMS Medan from North Sumatra Province in an advanced match of the 2018 League of Liga 1, with the score of 1-0, here on Saturday evening.
The match was held at the Kapten I Wayan Dipta stadium in Bali Provincial District of Gianyar.
The only goal was netted by Stefano Lilipaly in the 55th minute, after he got a passing ball from Nick Van Der Velden, which broke down the goal of PSMS Medan guarded by Abdul Rohim.
From the beginning, Bali United faced pressure from PSMS Medan team, and so the ball was longer played in the area of host Bali United.
But in the second half, Bali United changed its strategy of the game by increasing the attack.
In the meantime, chief coach of PSMS Medan, Djadjang Nurdjaman, acknowledged the superiority of his team`s opponents.
Meanwhile, in the opening league game at the Bung Karno main stadium in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday evening (March 23), the 2017 Liga 1 champions Bhayangkara FC drew 0-0 against 2018 President Cup winners Persija Jakarta.
About 18 teams are expected to participate in the 2018 Liga 1.
The teams are Bhayangkara FC, Bali United, PSM Makassar, Persija Jakarta, Madura United, Persipura Jayapura, Barito Putera, Borneo FC, Arema FC, Mitra Kukar, Sriwijaya FC, PS TIRA (previously PS TNI), Persib Bandung, Persela Lamongan, Perseru Serui, Persebaya Surabaya, PSMS Medan, and PSIS Semarang.
