"The industry ministry's regulation outlines the specifications of the needed products, so that the domestic industry could prepare their production standards," Industry Minister Saleh Husin noted in a press statement here on Friday.
This standardization must be implemented to boost the development of electricity infrastructure as announced by the government. It is contained in Industry Minister's Regulation No. 15 of 2016 on Specification and Price Standards for Transmission Towers and Domestically Produced Conductors in the Framework of Accelerating the Development of Electricity Infrastructure.
The regulation is issued for the implementation of Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 4 of 2016 on the Accelerated Development of Electricity Infrastructure.
The Industry Ministry will continue to coordinate with state-owned electricity company PLN as the executor of the project and other related ministries and agencies such as the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and the Government's Development Finance Comptroller.
According to the Industry Minister's regulation, the specification standards for transmission towers included the types: 150 kV, 2x Hawk; 150 kV, 2x Zebra; 275 kV, 2x Zebra; and 500 kV, 2x Zebra.
The conductor specification standards include PLN standard 41-7:1981 for Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced with a cross-sectional area of 240 sq. millimeters (ACSR 240/40).
The specification standards also covered SPLN 41-7:1981 for ACSR 435/55; SPLN T3.001-4:2015 for ACSR 250; SPLN T3.001-4:2015 for ACSR 450; SPLN T3.001-1:2015 for Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced with Aluminum Clad Steel with a cross-sectional area of 250 sq. millimeters (ACSR/AS 250); and SPLN T3.001-1:2015 for ACSR/AS 450.
