He stated here on Wednesday that lately, several people were merely viewing Papua from a political standpoint.
"But, we laud the efforts of the central government that has sent numerous ministers to the province to objectively view the prevailing conditions in the land of Papua," he remarked.
Earlier, Coordinating Minister for Maritime and Environment Indroyono Susilo paid a recent visit to Papua to convey the warm greetings of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to the people of Papua.
"President Jokowi has expressed hope that the people of Papua would continue to remain within the framework of the NKRI," Indroyono remarked.
He stated that the 70th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Indonesia can be celebrated with great fanfare, as until now, Indonesia's territory still spans from Sabang to Merauke. (WDY)
