Jakarta (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Tuesday issued an instruction on preventive measure against and eradication of corruption.
The instruction is an implementation of a presidential regulation no. 55 in 2012 on medium and long term national strategy to prevent and eradicate corruption.
Earlier Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto said the presidential instruction was drafted based on discussions involving various government agencies.
The instruction has a lot of details of implementation but the core issue is prevention of corruption, how to make a system which will enable the law enforcement to immediately identify illegal use of state fund, Andi said.
"That is why the president put the financial and development watchdog BPKB as part of the presidential office," he said.
He said it is expected that prevention will account for 70-75 percent of the corruption eradication program in Indonesia.
On Tuesday the president issued the instruction at the National Development Planning Board (Bappenas) attended by a number of cabinet ministers including Minister for National Development Planning Adrinof Chaniago, provincial governors, and chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Taufiqurahman Ruki.
Under the presidential instruction, all government agencies and regional administrations are expected to carry out the instruction with actions to determined every year.
Eradication of corruption is high in the agenda of the present government. (WDY)
