Banda Aceh, Aceh (Antara Bali) - Two Indonesian military officers, who had been kidnapped, were found dead in Nisam Antara sub-district, North Aceh District, Aceh Darussalam Province, on Tuesday.

The military and police officers, with the assistance of the local residents, found the bodies of the victims, who were kidnapped on Monday (March 23)," stated Major General Agus Kriswanto, the commander of the Iskandar Muda district military command.

The dead officers were Second Sergeant Indra Irawan of Palembang, South Sumatra Province, and Second Sergeant Hendrianto of Kerinci, Jambi Province.

They were kidnapped by an unknown group on their way home after visiting Mukim Daud, a local prominent figure of Bate Pilah village, around 240 kilometers east of Banda Aceh.

"This case has disturbed the peace in Aceh, which had so far prevailed well," Kriswanto added. (WDY)
