The creatures were identified through fossil from the Isle of Skye (the Isle of Skye) in Scotland northwest, and has the shape of a dolphin, and can grow to a length of up to four meters.
A team led by scientists from Edinburgh University to name the species Dearcmhara shawcrossi as a tribute to Brian Shawcross, an amateur fossil collector who collects most of the fossil creature was in 1959.
The fossils were then donated to a museum that allows scientists to study and identify new species.
"During times dinosarus, Scottish waters inhabited by giant reptiles size of a speedboat," said Steve Brusatte from the School of Geosciences, University of Edinburgh.
