Jakarta (Antara Bali) -  The Jakarta composite index (JCI) opened higher on Friday partly on positive domestic sentiment, analysts said.

The index of the Indonesian Stock Exchange (BEI) rose 8.09 points or 0.16 percent to 5,185.25 points  with index of 45 most liquid stock up 0.23 percent to 894.22 points.

Samuel Sekuritas' analyst Tiesha Narandha Putri said Bank Indonesia said that the country's economy could expand in 2015 by a higher rate of 5.4-5.8 percent as against 5.1-5.2 percent in 2014.

The prediction gave a positive sentiment to the domestic market, Tiesha said.

In addition coal mining shares are expected to rise at the BEI  on expectation that Chinese economic relaxation policy, she said.

"Coal demand is expected to rise from China as a result of the policy," she said, adding "and Indonesia could gain as one of China's major trading partners.

Meanwhile, a team of technical analyst of Mandiri Sekuritas  said currently the market players are awaiting the result of  the  meeting next week of  board of governors of Bank Indonesia on its benchmark interest rate (BI rate).

In addition, ahead of year-end , investors are waiting for   "window dressing" normally made by "Fund Manager", Pension Fund  and other big investors, it said.

Regional markets such as Hang Seng  and Straits Times recorded gain in indices  and  Nikkei recorded a decline. (WDY)
