Medan, N Sumatra (Antara Bali) - Boarding presidential special aircraft, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana arrived in Medan, North Sumatra, for his first one-day working visit after being inaugurated on October 20, 2014.
The presidential aircraft left Halim Perdanakusuma airport in Jakarta at 7.15 am on Wednesday and arrived at Medan's Soewondo airport at 9.45 am local time.
At the airport, President Jokowi was greeted by North Sumatra Governor Gatot Pudjo Nugroho before the president and the first lady in the company of Social Affairs Minister Kofifah Indar Parawansa made their way to Kabanjahe in Tanah Karo to meet the victims of Mount Sinabung eruption.
It was the first time for President Jokowi and the first lady to fly on the presidential special aircraft for the first working visit to North Sumatra.
The president is scheduled to return to Jakarta on Wednesday evening. (WDY)
