Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Police said some of recent fires in Riau had been confirmed to have happened in the lands belonging to five out of eight companies in the province.
"Out of eight corporations suspected of conducting burning, based on investigation, five have been proven doing it," National Police head of public relations division, Brigadier General Ronny F Sompie said here on Tuesday.
He said no fire meanwhile had been found in the lands belonging to the other three.
He said the police could not as yet confirm the companies responsible for recent forest fires in Riau and are still focusing their investigation to prove the involvement of the five companies in the fires. (IGT)
