Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Indonesia and South Korea signed a cooperation agreement in bureaucratic reform and e-government development here on Thursday.
The agreement was signed by Indonesia's ministers of administrative reform, Azwar Abubakar, and communications and information minister Tifatul Sembiring and South Korean minister of security and public administration, Yoo Jeong Bok, and witnessed by Vice President Boediono.
According to global survey results South Korea is ranked first with regard to e-government development and electronic participation indexes, out of 192 UN member countries.
Through the e-government cooperation forum the two countries agreed to collaborate in the field of public administration that emphasizes the important role of e-government in creating a more transparent, innovative and accountable government.
Azwar Abubakar said on the occasion that Indonesia has decided to make e-government the backbone of the success of bureaucratic reform in the country.
"Therefore we are providing a room to share the experience and best practices of South Korea in developing the specific e-government," he said. (M038)
