Rupiah traded at level of 9,740 to the US dollar weakening marginally from 9,728 in inter-bank transaction on Wednesday morning.
Reza Priyambada, the chief researcher of Trust Securities, said rupiah is still stable with the protection by the central bank.
"In addition, the central bank's recent decision to maintain its benchmark interest rate (BI Rate) at 5,75 percent, which in line with the market expectation, brought about positive sentiment," Reza said.
At the same time, however, the market players reacted negatively to falling value of euro on speculation of interest rate cut by the European Central Bank, he said. (*/DWA)
