Manado (Antara Bali) - Malaysian Minister for Information and Culture Rais Yatim said Indonesia and Malaysia were 'leaves' of the same tree.
"Therefore, it is a good thing if we speak Malay because it means building the nation," the Malaysian minister said during a dinner with Iswami, in the Peninsula Thursday night.
He said that this thing should be returned to its origin so that Indonesia and Malaysia could foster unity.
Citing the United States and Britain as an example, he said they felt very close because they both speak English. So, Indonesia and Malaysia should both use the Malay language.
He also expressed gratitude for being able to attend the dinner with Iswami, at the invitation of the North Sulawesi governor. (*/T007)
