Rupiah traded at 9,624 to the dollar at interbank transactions from the level of 9,630 earlier.
Trust Securities' analyst Reza Priyambada said positive sentiment was brought about by report of improved industrial production data in Europe .
In addition a statement by the International Monetary Fund, saying it wanted to give extra time for Greece to carry out its program of efficiency to meet its deficit target, was seen as positive by the market players, Reza said.
"The extra time is expected to reduce the risk of Greece to quit the Euro block," he said.
Meanwhile, Milenium Danatama Sekuritas' analyst Abidin said the rupiah gain was attributable partly to Bank Indonesia (BI) interference to keep the rupiah from falling deeper.(IGT)
