Pontianak, W Kalimantan (Antara Bali) - The West Kalimantan police chief Brig. Gen. Unggung Cahyono has warned district police chiefs in the province of possible clandestine operations of terrorists targeting the police posts.

The warning by Unggung Cahyono came after the arrest yesterday of a terrorist suspect identified as AP (19) in the regency of Melawi.

Police posts  have become the main  targets of terrorists  in the country lately, regional police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Mukson Munandar said here Sunday.

"In general the condition and security is conducive in West Kalimantan but it is better to remain on our guard," Mukson said.

AP was arrested  by police's anti terror squad known as Densus 88 at the house of his relative in the village of Bloyang, some 450 kilometers from this provincial city on Saturday afternoon.

He was immediately brought to Pontianak that afternoon after a brief stay at Melawi district police office.(*/DWA)
