Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Central Jakarta Police Chief Senior Commander A.R. Yoyol stated on Tuesday that around 650 police personnel have been deployed outside the Central Jakarta District courtroom, where the trial of John Kei, accused of murdering PT Sanex Steel Indonesia businessman Tan Harry Tantono aka Ayung is slated to begin.
"We have deployed 650 officers," Yoyol said after inspecting the security preparations for the trial at the courtroom.
He also pointed out that the security for the trial is being provided by a joint team, which includes security personnel from the Central Jakarta Police, Polda Metrojaya and Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob).
"The police had initially deployed officers dressed as civilians to tighten the security," Yoyol noted.
He added that water cannons and barracuda police tactical vehicles have been provided to security detail at the court.(IGT)
