"We have arrested three men and a woman, along with 38 illegal immigrants. They all have been arrested and brought to the Sukabumi Immigration Office," Head of Security and Intelligence Unit of Sukabumi Police Resort told ANTARA on Friday.
According to Sumaryoto, the police received a report that nine vehicles carrying immigrants would pass through Cisolok sub-district. Thus, Sukabumi Polres jointly conducted an impromptu raid with the Cisolok Police Sector (Polsek) in front of Cisolok Polsek Mako.
Subsequently, the cop successfully arrested the nine-vehicle convoy which was transporting the immigrants. "We also charged nine Indonesian drivers who were transporting the illegal immigrants," he continued.
Cops are now questioning those arrested. However, the police still have no idea whether the gang is part of the Australia-Sukabumi human trafficking network.(IGT)
