"The miners move from one to another place far from human settlements, and not accessible by cars, South Solok police chief Djoko Trisulo said .
Earlier illegal miners operated only in certain areas such as Sangir Batanghari and Pamong Gadang in the district of Sangir that police could easily spotted them, Djoko said here on Tuesday.
The miners used modern tools , but there is no indication they used dangerous materials such as mercury to process gold ores in the mining site, he said.
In the first half the year , there were only three cases of illegal gold prospecting in South Solok, declining from 12 cases in the same period last year.(IGT)
