Jakarta (Antara Bali) - A fire razed a densely-populated area on Jalan Karitini 8 in Sawah Besar subdistrict, Central Jakarta, early Sunday but there was no immediate report of casualties or material damage.

A total of 31 fire trucks from the Central, North and West Jakarta fire departments were sent to the scene, spokesman of the Central Jakarta fire department Dedy said.

"The fire is still raging," he said.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Fire in densely populated areas in Jakarta is common.(IGT/T007)
