"At the meeting, both Vice President Boediono and Ashok Mirpuri expressed their gratitude for increased cooperation between Indonesia and Singapore," vice presidential spokesman Yopie Hidayat stated.
Yopie said the vice president expressed his gratefulness to Ashok for improved bilateral relations between Indonesia and Singapore.
"Ashok also thanked Vice President Boediono for supporting him during his tenure as the Singaporean Ambassador to Indonesia," he added.
Yopie said Ashok would later be appointed as Singapore's ambassador to the United States, while his successor in Indonesia would be the current Singaporean ambassador to Belgium.(IGT)
