Jakarta (Antara Bali) - The Capital Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) said investors' confidence in Indonesia remains high.

Investors still see the investment climate conducive in the country, BKPM chief Thomas Lembong said here on Wednesday.

The presence of 400 business leaders  in the prestigious Forbes Global CEO Conference to end here on Thursday indicate the confidence, Thomas said.

"Now the investors' sentiment is at its height after years of economic reform  and improvement," he said.

He said he was confident, the investment target of Rp594.8 trillion this year and Rp678.8 trillion next year would be reached.

"The government is set to continue the process of economic reform," he said.

The business leaders were enthusiastic with the breakthrough  and bold steps the government has taken to forestall the impacts of the global slump, he said.

Malcolm Stevenson "Steve" Forbes, Jr.an American publishing executive, the Editor-in-Chief of Forbes business magazine said he appreciated the breakthrough steps taken by the government to attract investments.

The steps  including tax amnesty program have been a success in repatriating huge funds parked abroad by many Indonesian either for commercial gain or to evade tax, Forbes said.

CEO of Wanda Group Jianlin Wang which has won a token of appreciation  "lifetime achievement Malcolm S. Forbes" also expressed appreciation for the government's bold steps to modernize the country's economy.

Among other leading executives of global companies attending the conference are CEO of Wilmar International Khoon Hong Kuok, Senior Chairman of Orix Corporation Yoshihiko Miyauchi, CEO of Living Essentials Manoj Bhargava, CEO of Fosun Xinjun Liang, Group CEO of  Grab Anthony Tan,  and  Chairman  and CEO  of Mayapada Group Dato Sri Tahir.  
    
Leading Indonesian business leaders invited to the conference included general chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rosan Roslani, CEO of  PT Bakrie Global Ventura Anindya Bakrie  and CEO of Telkom Telstra Erik Meijer.
