Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms Minister Yuddy Chrisnandi has assigned echelon I officials of the ministry to lead public service evaluating teams in 57 districts and municipalities in the country.
"The teams are part of the efforts to improve the quality of public services, according to the mandate of Law No. 25/2009 on Public Services. I believe that the public services will improve in six months' time as we keep exercising control on them," he said here on Monday.
He said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has declared 2015 as the year of public service to improve the performance of state apparatuses and institutions.
If the target to improve these two elements is achieved, the public's satisfaction with and confidence in government services will improve, he said.
The teams led by echelon I officials will focus on keeping public services under control at seven airports including Soekarno Hatta, I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Kuala Namu, Juanda, Hang Nadim, Husein Sastranegara, Adisucipto, and Achmad Yani and four seaports including Tanjung Priok, Batam Center, Belawan and Tanjung Perak.
Yuddy appealed to the public to participate in the effort by providing information about any public services being found unsatisfactory.
Likewise, he expressed the hope that the mass media would familiarize the public with the government's policies and steps to improve public services. (WDY)
