Samarinda, East Kalimantan (Antara Bali) - President Joko Widodo is scheduled to break the ground to mark the start of the construction of the Buluminang industrial estate (KIB) project in Penajam Paser Utara, East Kalimantan.

The plan is  the president will also inaugurate construction of a Technopark  and railway infrastructure  and facilities  inside the industrial estate .

The infrastructure and facilities are to support the railway project of PT Kereta Api Borneo, deputy regent of Penajam Paser Utara Mustaqim MZ said after a coordinating meeting  on the ground breaking agenda  at the office of East Kalimantan governor here on Tuesday.

"The ground breaking ceremonies are monumental for the regional development  and a pride for the regency of Penajam Paser Utara," Mustaqim  said.

He hoped that the ground breaking ceremonies would be followed with the laying of the first corner stone for the bridge project between  Penajam  and Balikpapan, needed to support the railway project of PT Kereta Api Borneo.

"We also want time for audience with the president before the ground breaking takes place," he said.

He said Russia is keen on investing in the Buluminung industrial estate with patrol boat, shipyard, fiber glass, biomass  and Kamaz truck factory, solar panel, pellet from timber waste,  and oil refinery projects.

"The Technopark  and the infrastructure inside  will need around 300 hectare plot  of land," Mustaqim said.

Unfortunately the ground breaking ceremonies originally to take place on Nov. 17  this year has to be put off  as on that same day , the plan a visit to China.

Also attending the coordinating meeting included the general manager of  Kereta Api Borneo Denis Moratov  and staff , head of the border bureau for area layout and cooperation  Tri Murti Rahayu representing East Kalimantan governor  and other regional officials. (WDY)
